Ben Coulson is leaving his post as chief creative officer of Hero after three years with the agency.
Coulson announce his departure on LinkedIn:
⚡ NOT QUITE BREAKING NEWS ⚡
Hey all, my first LinkedIn status update in quite a while. I have punched my card at HERO after a thrilling 3.2 years.
Huge thanks to Ben Lilley and the crew for, hands down, one of the best experiences I’ve had in this business.
3.2 years ago, BL had the (maybe crazy) idea to reboot McCann as an Indi. I was straight on the phone asking if I could help. HERO launched, and a whirlwind of ‘build it on the run’ energy was set loose. People, skills, services, cities and some really great work flowed.
I can happily say I learned more than I could have imagined.
HERO is now a Campaign Brief top ten Agency and climbing, has twice been Australia’s top-ranked Independent at the Effies, and picked up some serious new business wins, including Toyota, Topo-Chico for Coke, Centrum, Microsoft, Maybelline New York, and eBay. Along with big wins at One Show, Spikes, AWARD, Cannes and a bag of others.
And I’m hooked on this kind of rush.
So I’m off to do it again. Maybe another Startup, maybe a network reno. Just as long as it’s as much fun as this was!
Any ideas, hit me up.
The agency has also lost its managing director, Roshni Hegerman, and chief operating officer, James Greet, in the last twelve months.
