In July this year, KFC launched a fried chicken scented candle. In 2016, it launched a sun cream that smelled like chicken. It’s not the Apache Pizza perfume idea that’s wonderful. It’s the execution. In The Company of Huskies has created a Valentine’s Day social film in the overblown style of perfume advertising to accompany its perfume for the pizza chain that smells like a buffalo pizza.
Behind this Valentine’s Day humour is the niggling fear that this is going to be a Valentine’s day like no other. Life in lockdown has been hard on romance. Gone are the days of dressing smart, going for dinner, dousing oneself in a signature scent and wanting to tear each other’s clothes off. Apache Pizza briefed In the Company of Huskies to create something special to help its customers spice things up and recapture a slice of the exotic life they once had. There are few things more irresistible, they decided, than the smell of a freshly baked Apache Pizza.

Apache Pizza will be giving away a limited supply of the exclusive scent, whose bottle is designed to be as irresistible as the scent (apparently) is.

“According to the experts, one whiff and you’ll be more desirable than the last slice of buffalo pizza,” the agency commented.
Sandra Carrasco Rodriguez, senior brand manager at Apache Pizza, stated, “Valentine’s Day comes but once a year, and to make the day special, the team at Apache Pizza wanted to surprise our customers with something as cheesy and irresistible as our pizza. To give people the chance to smell as good as their favourite pizza, we are delighted to launch this truly innovative perfume, Eau de Apache. We all need another reason to smile this year and we hope Eau de Apache will do that.”
