Kia’s electric vehicles are zombie-proof. That’s good to know if the mad theory about the current L.A. fires being the harbinger of the apocalypse is true.
The idea behind the campaign by Innocean Worldwide is that Kia’s new electric vehicle range are the ultimate cars that can handle anything. The campaign highlights the cars’ Smart Park Assist, Kia Voice Command, cool box and sound-deadening features such as foam-insulated tyres, sound-insulating glass, and whisper-quiet electric motors that promise near-total silence inside the cabin that keeps passengers undetectable.

The commercials are running during prime TV time – the Australian Open – and were directed by François Rousselet through DIVISION, who also directed the recent John Lewis Christmas commercial, The Gifting Hour.

The apocalypse story is being told through a hero 90-second film with 60-second cutdown and multiple 30-, 15- and 10- second edits that interweave three apocalyptic storylines, all of which culminate at a quintessentially suburban Australian shopping centre, Jacaranda Plaza.
Rousselet’s trademark meticulous detail is apparent with the sunny streets of Australian suburbia being overrun with more than a hundred movement artists transformed into zombies, led by Australian actors and actresses such as Luke Arnold, Tess Haubrich and Chloe Zuel, and even a guest cameo by celebrity gardener, Jamie Durie.
