F5 Shanghai, the Chinese indie spreading Chinese brand fame internationally, has appointed Jimyi Xu as its inaugural director of global marketing & communications. The newly created role puts Xu in charge of shaping the agency’s editorial voice across all external channels – covering media outreach, social engagement, and marketing content.
“Jimyi offers both strategic clarity and creative drive,” stated Adams Fan, founder and chief creative officer of F5 Shanghai. “His forward-looking perspective, paired with a solid track record in delivering resonant campaigns and his unmistakable passion for what we stand for, made him the obvious choice for this pivotal position.”
Xu brings more than 13 years of diverse experience to the agency. Most recently, he served as senior brand marketing manager at Sweetshop, where he oversaw marketing communications first for the Asia and MENA regions, later for global markets. He began his career in Shanghai as a contributing writer for the Chinese editions of international magazines including Cosmopolitan, ELLE MEN, L’Officiel, Architectural Digest, and Robb Report. He then moved into advertising, spending five years in corporate communications roles at DDB and MullenLowe.
“From day one, I felt the unmistakable energy and shared ambition at F5 Shanghai, ” Xu commented. “For anyone in marketing and communications, this is the kind of role you dream about. The culture is vibrant, the team is dedicated to producing truly outstanding work, and the possibilities here feel boundless. I couldn’t be more excited to join at such a dynamic stage for the agency.”
