There are so many awards that any creative can probably be adland famous for fifteen minutes sometime in their career. But famous famous, well that’s something else.
And, according to J.Walter Thompson New York, its access is exclusively via The One Show.
With a little help from everyday people and a dog called Mr Bernbach, JWT explores the breadth and depth of being famous famous. Famous like Prince. Or Prince Harry. Or the Prince of Bel Air.
Why? Because The One Show is open for entries, with a third-quarter deadline of November 30, 2017 and final deadline January 31, 2018.
“JWT’s campaign is a tongue-in-cheek take on fame and how The One Show can make it possible,” explained Kevin Swanepoel, chief executive officer, The One Club for Creativity.
“At the same time, entering work also helps the industry overall because The One Club is a global non-profit organisation that uses awards revenue to give back to the industry through nearly two dozen education, professional development, gender equality and inclusion and diversity programs for creatives around the world at all levels.”
“There’s a lot of tension in the world right now, so we wanted to create something that makes people smile,” noted Aaron Padin, head of art & design, J. Walter Thompson New York. “We took a hyperbolic look at what it means to win at the One Show to poke a little fun at ourselves.”
JWT’s Be Famous Famous campaign from includes print, video and interactive.
One Show Awards juries focus on creativity of ideas and quality of execution. Judging will take place in March 2018, with next year’s juries announced shortly, finalists revealed in April and winners announced and celebrated at The One Show galas on May 9 and 11, 2018 as part of Creative Week in New York.
