2025 was, without question, the year of AI. And the more tech advances, the more it seems to replace real human connections. As the world continues to lean into, and grow with, all the very clever, maybe intrusive technology, society feels more artificial than ever.
Agency, Laughlin Constable, has harnessed nostalgia for the technology-free holidays of yore – bottling the scent of specific holiday memories into a candle called Nostalgia.
It contains notes of fresh pine tree from a random parking lot, stale peppermints from grandma’s purse, an overly-cologned new boyfriend, and, of course, gingerbread.
To celebrate the launch, the agency produced an indie film-style teaser introducing Nostalgia, the holiday fragrance by Laughlin Constable, to bring people a little holiday cheer through humour.
Nostalgia launched on December 17, with the new fragrance delivered to Laughlin Constable’s clients, prospects, and additional industry folk.
“We believe that deeply emotional, nostalgic storytelling will re-emerge as the real hero of 2026,” stated Anthony Romano, CEO of Laughlin Constable. “So, with this year’s LC Holiday Card, we wanted to create a simple reminder that in this world that feels more and more artificial and disconnected, the moments that move us at our core are still those perfectly imperfect human moments.”
“AI may define 2025, but it can’t replace the human moments we crave most,” added Jon Laughlin, CCO of Laughlin Constable. “Nostalgia is our way of bottling those memories, as a reminder that warmth and wit still matter in a tech-heavy world. We wanted to send a warm, nostalgic message while poking a little fun at the season and invoking the memories we all hold dear.”
