It’s footy time in the UK and IRN-BRU intends not to miss out on the fervour. Of course, it is embracing footy in its own way own way, with a social campaign created by Leith – and a football kit unlike the others. The BRU Winter Footy Kit. Football fanatics and sofa-dwellers alike are asked to unite BRU-style, watching the matches from the comfort of their sofa in the unmistakable orange and blue hues of IRN-BRU.

In a twist to the classic football kit, IRN-BRU has opted for comfort over athleticism. Its kit is made from wool, and consists of a blanket, snoodie, gloves, hat and socks. While potentially out of place on the pitch, it is the perfect ensemble for any sofa-side audience. Because unassuming armchair supporters are the heroes of IRN-BRU’s campaign, which will feature heavily across TikTok and includes involvement from three Scottish influencers, Paul Dock, Erica Moura and Connor Newall. The campaign, voiced by football pundit Rob Maclean, parodies traditional football kit launches with fans wearing the BRU Winter Footy Kit posing comfortably from the sidelines.

Owain Cowx, acoount director, Leith, commented, “Celebrating the footy by uniting the fans of BRU and football, combined with some good old weirdness, it was a no brainer for us to have a bit of fun with this.”
Adrian Troy, marketing director at IRN-BRU parent, AG Barr, “This kit is all about IRN-BRU embracing the weirdness that football’s biggest event being staged in winter brings.”

The campaign coincides with the launch of custom IRN-BRU packs and cans with QR codes, giving IRN-BRU fans the chance to win their own Winter Footy Kit.
