“It’s not the destination but the journey.” But if you get motion sickness, that journey is awful.
Leo Germany has teamed up with Samsung Electronics to make the traditional Easter holiday journey more comfortable. Motion sickness affects nearly one third of people1 and can turn even short journeys into a challenge.
The idea is based on research from Nagoya University in Japan. It shows that listening to a pure 100 Hz sine tone for just 60 seconds can reduce motion sickness2. The effect can last up to two hours. It only works if no music or other sounds disturb the tone.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro, together with the free Hearapy app, help create a more comfortable travel experience, whether on a plane, in a car, or on a train.
“Our solution helps people travel more easily,” stated Mario Winter, vice president marketing at Samsung Electronics Germany. “At the centre is a clear 100 Hz bass tone played through the Galaxy Buds4 Pro. It stimulates the balance system in the inner ear, helping the body handle movement better. (…) No pills, no side effects. It shows how innovation can improve everyday life.”
Users can listen to the tone before the trip using the Hearapy app. A timer makes sure it is played long enough. The focus is on ease of use and giving people control.
The campaign highlights the power of Galaxy Buds4 Pro to provide the right technology for accurate sound. Their advanced 2-way speaker delivers strong and clear bass. A newly developed mid-woofer helps reduce distortion for precise sound. Active Noise Cancelling also reduces outside noise, which is especially useful when travelling.

“Many people experience motion sickness. We wanted to offer a simple solution. With Hearapy, we show that the Galaxy Buds4 Pro can be more than headphones. They are a smart tool to fight motion sickness,” stated Benjamin Merkel, ECD at Leo Germany.
The app is promoted at key travel locations such as Frankfurt Airport on gate screens and shared by influencers from Team Galaxy with their communities.
The Android app is available now for anyone who wants to travel more comfortably.
