More than 11,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities in Chile currently receive zero minutes of exposure in national sports media. In contrast, mainstream sports get an average of 34 minutes per day on national newscasts. Chilean creative agency, Loca, intends to change the gap – with a pact.
Loca has launched the campaign, #PactoInvisibles or #InvisiblePact, in partnership with Special Olympics Chile, the Ministry of Sports, the National Institute of Sports, and the Circle of Sports Journalists. The campaign covers TV, radio, print, and digital.
The public can also take part by signing the pact at pactoinvisibles.cl. The goal is to gather thousands of signatures to take this cause to Congress and push for real change in how inclusive sports are represented in the media.

“What matters most isn’t what we’ve done — it’s what could happen if even one minute is given by sports media to tell these stories,” explained Loca creative, Gabriel Lara.
