AMV BBDO has appointed Mark Elwood as chief creative officer at AMV BBDO. He joins from Leo UK, where he began as ECD in 2020 and replaced Chaka Sobhani as chief creative officer two years later. Elwood replaces Nadja Lossgott and Nick Hulley, who announced their departure in March.
His new role will be a return to AMV BBDO when he starts work in January 2027 – Elwood was head of design there from 2001 to 2004 – and he will take charge of the creative and design department, that includes its social and creator unit native@AMV. Elwood will report to AMV Group CEO, Xav Rees, and BBDO worldwide chief creative officer, Chris Beresford-Hill.
While CCO at Leo, the UK agency was Campaign Agency of the Year in 2022 and 2023, and he has been the creative leader for some of the world’s most famous brands, such as McDonald’s, Kellogg’s, Skoda UK, Vodafone, Morrisons and Confused.com, during his recent career, including McDonald’s, Kellogg’s, Skoda UK, Vodafone, Morrisons and Confused.com recently.
Mark began his career as a typographer at Leo Burnett, JWT and Euro RSCG. Between his first role at AMV BBDO and Leo UK, he was ECD of MullenLowe London and 101, and a creative director at Fallon.
