Marketforce flies the flag for Australia in the One Show Awards shortlists so far

Marketforce Perth, is the only Australian agency to make The One Show shortlist for first and second quarter entries. The Third quarter deadline is November 30. The final deadline for entry is January 31, 2018.

Marketforce has gained three shortlisted entries in Radio;

The Pitch for St. Ives Homecare

The US dominates the Branded Entertainment shortlists so far, with 9 entries – 5 from BBDO NY, 3 from McCann NY and 1 from Droga5.

It also dominates Cross-platform, with 8 shortlisted entries – 4 from Droga5, 2 from McCann NY and 1 each from Haymaker LA and 72andSunny LA.

In Film, the US has 37 of the 42 shortlisted entries.

The One Show quarterly entry system was introduced two years ago to benefit everyone involved in the process, including creative teams who submit entries, agency management responsible for awards budgeting and judges who review the work.

“By submitting work when it’s fresh and top-of-mind, creative teams can more easily access materials while they are readily available, and capitalize in real time on the work’s media coverage and industry buzz,” noted Kevin Swanepoel, chief executive officer, The One Club for Creativity.

“Agency management gains a budgeting advantage by spreading awards spending over a 12-month period, amounting to four smaller amounts across two calendar years. From a judging perspective, the work is reviewed when it’s fresh and still topical, and jury members can give it greater attention because they’re reviewing smaller batches of entries.”

The quarterly system divides the entry periods into four deadlines, opening in July and ending on January 31. The first quarter deadline is August 15, followed by September 30, November 30 and the final one on January 31, 2018.

The finalists list will be announced in April 2018 in lead up the The One Show awards ceremonies on May 9 and 11, 2018 during Creative Week in New York.
