EQT Support 93 / Berlin. That’s not a very notable name for a shoe, but the shoe itself is notable.
The Adidas Original trainer doubles as an annual ticket for all of Berlin’s subways, buses, trams and ferries. The idea comes from Matt von Jung, who partnered with Berlin’s public transportation system Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), to create the limited edition (500 only) Adidas trainer, which coincides with the 90th anniversary of the BVG.
The shoes go on sale on January 16 for 180 Euro at the Adidas Originals Flagship store in Berlin Mitte and at the shop, Overkill, in Kreuzberg. They have the same pattern as the BVG seat covers and the tongue contains the annual pass details. Anyone wearing the shoes will be able to ride free on BVG public transport until December 31, 2018.
