AWARD School’s 2017 competition is a spectacular. The national winner will be flown to New York to meet David Droga and compare his or her winning portfolio with Droga’s (from 1987).
David Droga is Cannes Lions’ most awarded creative of all time, yet his 1987 AWARD School trophy is the only one he features alongside his 2017 Lion of St Mark award in his NYC office.
2017 is the 30th anniversary of the year that Droga, founder and now creative chairman of Droga5, was the top student at AWARD School.
The prize idea came from Esther Clerehan, who was also instrumental in getting it off the ground.
“This project has been an obsession of mine since David mentioned he still had his AWARD School book in a conversation last year in New York,” she commented.
The trip to New York to meet Droga has been sponsored by The Sweet Shop and Clerehan Pty Ltd.
“This is an award jury and opportunity of epic scale,” stated Wilf Sweetland, managing partner at The Sweet Shop.
“I am extremely proud to have The Sweet Shop celebrate Droga’s 30th and to help facilitate such an amazing prize for the winner.”
The 2017 AWARD School national winner will be the only person in the last 30 years outside of Droga’s children to see the portfolio that landed Droga his big break at OMON.
