Life is a bit dreary right now but in the UK KFC is cheering things up a bit. Most of the UK can’t get its hands on KFC fried chicken at present, so home versions are being made – some with more and some with less success.
KFC and Mother have made that competitive – and entertaining for all. The brand is hosting the KFC Clash on Instagram Live. Well-known personalities will be pitted against one another in a bid to re-create one of the Colonel’s iconic recipes from home, whilst raising money for Comic Relief.
First up on Tuesday, April 22 on @KFC_UKI were Chris and Kem, from Love Island. The clashes will be streamed live on KFC’s UKI Instagram every Tuesday night for the next four weeks, with each contender battling for viewers’ votes. Mother has amped up the competition, labelling it the UFC (Ultimate Fried Chicken) fight – the ultimate heavyweight throwdown.
For each battle, KFC will be donating to Comic Relief, the UK’s anti-poverty charity. Through its existing partnership, which began in 2019, KFC donates 5p of every bucket sold to Comic Relief, with additional money being raised through team member fundraising. Together with Comic Relief, KFC is aiming to raise £3million by 2022 in a bid to help organisations in local communities in the UK provide mentoring, employment and social skills for young people.
The Colonel also has a few other surprises up his wing, which will be revealed very soon.
