The yellow cub emoji. Why does it exist? How would you use it?
MullenLowe and Knorr Philippines have made it meaningful – and useful – in a campaign launched around World Emoji Day. The campaign began in the days before World Emoji Day. Yellow cube emojis began appearing in the comment sections of Filipino foodie influencers without hashtags or context. It wasn’t long before influencers began to speculate. Was it spam? Someone’s blunder? Something bigger?
The wonderings intensified when the brand shared a series of emoji formulas that Filipinos could use to cook their favourite dishes with Knorr. 🐖🍅🌶️🟨💧🔥 = Sinigang na Baboy (Pork Tamarind Stew). Or 🐔🧄🟨🍶🔥 = Chicken Adobo.

Influencers and food creators followed Knorr’s lead as they started creating their own content using the Knorr Emoji Recipes. The yellow cube emoji, now the Knorr Yellow Cube emoji has found its way into pop culture and reminds people to use Knorr in their home-cooked meals.
