If unsweetened still water doesn’t sound enticing, Hint Water intends to change your mind. The campaign by Mythology is a complete brand refresh that defies the thought that water has to be boring with its come-hither shorthand, WILF (Water I’d Like to Finish), and a commercial that overturns expectations about what water (and its advertising) can be.
In doing so, the commercial gets very close to satire with its high-fashion fragrance advertising style. Overtly sensual and OTT, the film, directed by Blinkink director, Zach Tavel, is incredibly beautiful and fascinating to watch – definitely because it injects fun into water, but also possibly because it makes you wonder whether you are meant to giggle.
The craving for Hint is expressed through slow-motion imagery, sculpted lighting, and a deeply sensual voiceover. Enigma’s Sadness, a Gregorian-chant-infused cult classic, underscores the film, pulling everything into a hyper-emotional rhythm. Sound design adds to this, with a primal, atmospheric score by Cody Ackors that heightens the commercial’s sensuality. The film builds tension through condensation, fruit and foreplay before revealing that the characters are in fact lusting over Hint.

The film’s misdirect is carried throughout the campaign, playing into familiar tropes with aerial advertising promoting new 19.2oz cans, (Caught You Looking At Our Cans) to a late-night sampling hotline offering consumers a taste of Hint when they’re feeling extra thirsty.

The campaign follows the brand’s March 2026 refresh, also developed by Mythology, and is the next evolution of Hint’s mission to transform drinking water from a task into something people actively crave. It is its first major campaign under the platform, Water For People With Tastebuds. The campaign term, mmmmm water, expresses Hint Water’s irresistible nature. When water actually tastes good, you don’t just drink it, you “mmmmm” it.
The full campaign is Hint’s first national (US) marketing push since 2024 and will run across streaming, CTV, digital video, social, podcasts and audio, influencer, out-of-home, experiential and retail.
