A shock bill. If you haven’t received one of these in the last twelve months, all hail to your ability to live very, very frugally. With the cost of living squeezing everyone, the sight of a bill is going to grab your attention. And that’s why this tactical ad by New Commercial Arts is genius.
The bill was placed as a full page in newspapers in the UK last Sunday to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. It’s a campaign by Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), supported by MoneySuperMarket. Earlier this year, MoneySuperMarket Group agreed a two-year charity partnership with CALM.
The campaign highlights the weight that money worries are having on the nation’s mental health.
Research has shown that 17% of people in the UK have admitted to having suicidal thoughts in the last 12 months due to financial stress. The ad also reassures people that CALM is available to offer hope and support to anyone struggling through their helpline, webchat and online guides.
