Accenture continues to strengthen its leadership with the appointments of Nick Law as global lead, design and creative tech, and Sarah Thompson as global lead, communications and content.
Law (above left) announced his departure from Apple in October last year, where he had been VP of marcom integration since September 2019. Thompson (above right) was global chief executive officer of Droga 5, which is owned by Accenture Interactive.
Law will lead Accenture Interactive’s experience design capabilities to help the company meet the evolving needs of consumers. Thompson will oversee Accenture Interactive’s global creative agency capacities, which span brand, digital engagement, content and media.
Law had a brief spell as chief creative officer Publicis Groupe & president Publicis Communications before he joined Apple in 2019. Prior to that he spent more than seventeen years at R/GA, becoming vice chairman & global chief creative officer in 2016.
Thompson’s promotion follows ten years at Droga5. She has also worked at BBH, Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Mullen.
“Two of the very first calls I made when I accepted my new role in September were to Nick Law and Sarah Thompson, respectively,” stated Accenture Interactive chief executive officer and creative chairman, David Droga. “Nick is someone I have admired for well over a decade. From R/GA to Apple, he is truly one of the most future-facing design, technology and communications leaders. His work has inspired millions, grown revenue by the billions and set new benchmarks for how design and tech need one another to thrive.”
Droga added, “[Sarah Thompson] she has without a doubt been one of my most trusted and influential Droga5 partners, and certainly one of the smartest and most authentic people I have ever met. We are spoiled and excited to have such exceptional leaders join this already incredible leadership team.”
Law and Thompson’s new roles are the latest in a string of top appointments. Neil Heymann was made global chief creative officer in December last year after just less than a year as founding partner of Publicis Groupes’ Le Truc. Prior to that, he had spent nearly twelve years at Droga5, a year and a half as global chief creative officer. Jatinda Singh was made global lead of data and analytics, also in December. David Droga was named chief executive officer and creative chairman of Accenture Interactive in August.
