Nick Simkins, who left Finch where he was executive producer three weeks ago, has launched a new production company, Cousin. Ariel Martin joins him as the first director on its roster.
While he was at Finch, the production company won Production Company of the Year awards at Ciclope Asia, SHOTS Asia Pacific, Campaign Brief and the AWARD Awards.
“Without the 5+ years at Finch, this next chapter doesn’t happen. More to come on that soon. Now to not f*ck it up,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
Ariel Martin commented, “I’ve known Nick since I was 22 when he hired me to make coffees as a bright-eyed runner. I’ve long thought he was primed to build a production company around his ethos that’s made him a leading EP: director focused, good taste, deep relationships. I’m stoked to be involved in COUSIN at the ground floor, but it’s the next couple of years, and the foundational roster he builds that I’m extra pumped to be a part of.”
