For many adults, ghosts and monsters are no longer the scariest things about Halloween. Facing their own financial reality might be even more frightening. That inspired Serasa and Burger King to join forces for a second consecutive Halloween campaign, inviting Brazilians to confront one of the most common financial anxieties – checking their credit score.
Who’s Afraid of Their Credit Score?, created in partnership with Oliver Latin America, encourages people to take a simple but often intimidating step toward understanding their financial health. So On October 30, people who visit a participating BK Drive location, open the Serasa app, and show their Serasa Score screen can redeem either a free Cheddar Jr. or Chicken Jr. sandwich. The initiative combines Burger King’s long-standing Halloween tradition with Serasa’s mission to promote financial education and credit awareness, proving that checking your score may be scary at first, but it can end with a flame-grilled reward.
By approaching the subject with humour, Serasa hopes to make financial health conversations more accessible and encourage consumers to stay informed about their credit standing.
The campaign film, produced by Balma Films, launched on October 27 and brings the idea into a classic horror setting. (Watch with sound on – face genuine terror.)
The new campaign follows last year’s Halloween collaboration between the two brands. In 2025, Serasa and Burger King turned overdue bills into the centrepiece of a Halloween activation. Customers who showed a bill at a BK drive-thru received a free burger, while those who also opened the Serasa app earned a free serving of fries. The initiative delivered record-breaking results, with more than 177,000 sandwiches redeemed and 233,000 app downloads in a single day.
“With this campaign, we’re using humour and the spirit of Halloween to show that checking your credit score doesn’t have to be intimidating. Understanding your score is a way to stay on top of your financial life and better understand how the credit market views consumers. When it comes to financial education, information is always your best ally,” stated Renan Maximiano, creative director at Serasa.
“The best ideas come from turning real-life situations into meaningful brand conversations. Few fears are as universal as facing your own financial reality. By connecting that insight to the worlds of Burger King and Serasa, we created a campaign that is simple, entertaining and culturally relevant,” added Beto Rando, business director at Oliver Latin America.
“Our partnership with Serasa began during Halloween 2025 and continued throughout 2026 through initiatives that prove how culturally relevant ideas and consumer-focused creativity can spark meaningful conversations,” noted Pedro Laguárdia, marketing manager at Burger King Brazil.
