A tax software company. You just sighed. But someone has to create its advertising. For Turbo Tax that someone is Wieden + Kennedy.
And the ads that W+K has been producing (for years) are wonderful. Funny, human, engaging…wild, some of them. Humpty Dumpty starred in the Super Bowl ad last year.
The latest is Turbo Tax fun and quirky to a T, directed by Photoplay’s Swedish duo, RBG6. The directing duo has injected their stylised, graphic aesthetic and attention to detail into the 90 second story as well as a surreal twist, all of which make the film riveting to watch and the message easy to absorb. That’s a very good thing when an ad has a fact-laden story to tell, as here.

Because you must be wondering, RBG6 is an abbreviation of Rödabergsgatan 6, which is the street address of the studio where RBG6 was founded and the professional name for directing pair, Joel Nordström and Lars Ohlin.
RBG6 joined Photoplay in 2014, after winning two Golds at Cannes in the Cyber category for their work for IKEA, Best Digital Poster at The Creative Circle for campaign, Rainbow, for orange and a British Television Advertising Awards (BTAA) for Best New Director.
