A wonderful two-minute story from Publicis Conseil that happens to be an ad, Open for Big Things, for Renault’s Kangoo Van. (This is important because vans are…let’s just say, utilitarian.)
Publicis’ story is about a furniture designer building his business, told through the eyes of his young daughter. Children have the most engagingly naïve way of seeing life.
In the van’s cameo appearances, its main “innovation” – open sesame by RenaultTM, the side opening of 1.45m without a central pillar is shown – not pointed out, just shown being used. More importantly, the film allows the Renault van to appeal with an emotional and aesthetic pitch (and makes a very watchable commercial).
Arnaud Belloni, Renault brand global chief marketing officer, commented, New Renault Kangoo Van had a major innovation with Open sesame by RenaultTM. It seemed obvious to us to highlight this feature and make it the creative centrepiece of this campaign.”
