Ever thought about how the Renault Clio got its name? Publicis is making it matter in an artistic film, directed by MJZ director, Rupert Sanders, that attaches the car Clio, to Clio, the Muse of History.
The campaign revisits the ancient Greek myth of the goddess Clio, one of the nine muses, to launch the new Renault CLIO full hybrid E-Tech, as the creation of the Muse. It presents Clio, Muse of History, weary of a world she considers too static, too monotonous. Driven by a deep need for renewal, she dares to take a radical step, imagining what could finally give her back her momentum, emotion, and desire. So the Muse creates the car.
This spot was a co-production between Wanda and MJZ.
“To rise to the challenge, we decided to make a spectacular film. An epic film that could be a perfume commercial or a film about the luxury industry, so we put our resources into it,” stated Arnaud Belloni, Renault global CMO & chief branding officer.
The campaign will be broadcast in France from December 24, 2025.
