Halloween is over before it’s begun. Christmas has arrived. Walmart has recruited the muppets to infuse Christmas 2026 with their irrepressible cheer. Not even Scrooge can dampen it.
The 90-second A Who Knew Carol, inspired by The Muppet Christmas Carol, reimagines the film’s famous opening song, Scrooge, with Goggins playing Ebenezer Scrooge alongside Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, The Great Gonzo, Rizzo the Rat and Pepé the King Prawn, and Stephanie Beatriz as Scrooge’s niece. It brings Walmart’s “Who Knew?” brand marketing platform into the holiday season.
The Christmas campaign was created by Walmart with Dept W and Pub W, Publicis Groupe’s Power of One Walmart agency models bringing together Fallon, Leo New York, the community, Digitas, and Zenith. The hero commercial was directed by Randall Einhorn and produced by Radical Media. Social content was directed by SARBY. Editing is by Union & Plural; post-production by Harbor.

The campaign will be running with both English and Spanish language videos. Watch one of the Spanish spots featuring Stephanie Beatriz:
Throughout the season, a series of videos and social content will follow Scrooge as he discovers Walmart’s exciting holiday gifts, favourite brands, seasonal deals and Express Delivery.
Scrooge will be visited by three new ghosts throughout the campaign:
- The Ghost of Christmas Presents: Shows Scrooge quality brands and exciting holiday gifts (featuring De’Longhi espresso makers, trending Disney toys, top tech, and fashion).
- The Ghost of Deals to Come: Teases savings ahead of Walmart’s annual Black Friday and Cyber Monday events.
- The Ghost of Christmas Fast: Highlights last-minute gifting through Walmart Express Delivery (as fast as 30 minutes).

The campaign will run across broadcast, OLV, streaming platforms (i.e., Paramount+, Peacock, Fox, Roku, YouTube, etc), social (Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit), OOH, audio/podcast, digital and affiliate/creator.

The attention to detail is outstanding:
