Revolver has added electrifying emerging talent, Gabriel Gasparinatos, to its directorial roster. His work is dynamic, authentic, and provocative.
Gasparinatos’ debut documentary feature, ONEFOUR: Against all Odds, was commissioned by Netflix Original and premiered at SXSW in Sydney in October 2023.
Praised by audiences and critics alike, the film shot to the top three films streamed on Netflix Australia on release. The film is uncompromising, immersive, objective and raw as it follows drill rap group, ONEFOUR, its rise to fame and ongoing conflict with police.
Margaret Pomeranz described the work as, ‘”An incendiary and powerful film that provokes both outrage and compassion. A cautionary tale for those of us opposed to censorship and discriminatory police powers.”
Commercially, Gabriel’s work has spanned clients such as adidas, Beats by Dre and Google and he has directed highly celebrated music videos for artists, Baker Boy and Tkay Maidza.
