A global search for the agency’s next creative leader has shown the strength of existing talent, with Richard Shaw elevated to CCO at Howatson+Company.
“The very best candidate to lead us into the future was already here,” stated Chris Howatson, CEO & founder of Howatson+Company. “Rich is an incredible creative leader, talent, and partner to brands. What makes Rich’s work special is how he balances the three pillars of modern persuasion – idea, craft and orchestration. I’m proud to see him represent creativity at H+Co”
Shaw joined Howatson+Company in 2022, most recently as deputy chief creative officer, where he has been foundational in new business wins and sustained creative excellence. With over 20 years’ experience, Richard cares fiercely for the commercial impact of creativity, and the people who enable it.
Prior to joining Howatson+Company, he spent two years as creative director at CHE Proximity, and before that creative lead at DDB Sydney. He has also held senior creative positions at Y&R and Clemenger BBDO.
Shaw stated, “Working alongside Howie and the team to get to this point has been an amazing journey. It goes without saying how excited I am for this next chapter. We’ve got the most incredible clients and talent across the agency and I can’t wait to keep building on that. Our aim is clear, make the most impactful, most effective, most ambitious work and have fun doing it.”
Shaw’s position is effective immediately and he will announce further senior hires in the coming weeks.
