Russia has been producing outstanding work in the last few years, and its best will be shown during the international advertising festival, Red Apple, February 16-17.
The theme of the festival is Exchange ideas! Change the world! And its aim will be to share ideas and creativity that are leading the direction of advertising, art and tech.
As well as its lectures and workshops, this year’s festival will include two special events.
The first is an analysis of the work in the competition. The festival organisers have asked professional producers, designers, strategists, creative directors, production designers, directors and composers to examine the secrets behind outstanding work.
The second is a presentation of the best cases from 2016. The creators of the brightest, most effective and most impressive projects will reveal the creation process of each campaign. The program includes: Sun for the best friend (Pedigree & BBDO Moscow), The Angriest Whopper (Burger King & Fistashki) and Survive in Europe (Aviasales) among others.
This year’s series of workshops is called Boost your Creativity. During the classes, business strategists, tech specialists, actors and artists will explore unusual approaches to boost creativity, eg. scribing and sketch-notes, mind-mapping, voice control and design thinking.
At the two day festival’s awards ceremony the Russian Advertising Academy will also award the most courageous ad with a special prize, Breakthrough of the Year.
More than 70 speakers will gather from all over the world. They include Roman Firayner (Instinct), Andrew Gubaidullin (Voskhod), Vladilen Sitnikov (Hungry Boys), Polina Zabrodskaya (Publicis London), Dragorad Knez (Publicis Russia) and Valentin Smolyakov (ACAR). Topics include how impactful and effective projects are born, how advertising and tech can change the world, and how media will look in 2025.
The festival hopes to be a point of contact between East and West and foster the communication of different ideas from Australasia and Europe. Judges include Sascha Kuntze (OgilvyDubai), Haruko Tsutsui(DentsuTokyo), Julian Katz (BBDO USA) and Sneha Nagesh (PHD’sGlobal).
