When was the last time a car commercial made you laugh? Saatchi & Saatchi-USA’s has given Toyota a Christmas story filled with relatable humour – the challenge of getting that perfect holiday gift for a loved one without them knowing, underscored by classic Hollywood spy thriller music to add to its joy. That it shows off a range of Toyotas just feel natural, and that’s something you’ve probably never said about a car ad before.
The Holiday Job, directed by Furlined directors, Speck & Gordon, made its debut during NBCUniversal’s primetime specials – Christmas in Rockefeller Centre on NBC and Peacock.
Meanwhile, Conill has dreamed up another relatable plot for Toyota’s Hispanic audience – the humorous true-to-life “drama” of hustling to get to Christmas Eve celebrations.
Running Late, directed by Max Malkin, also shows off a range of Toyotas without intruding awkwardly into the story and made its debut within Navidades en Rockefeller Centre on Telemundo.
