In July, Wieden + Kennedy reimagined Visa as the company that connects business with customers, and customers with businesses, throughout the world. The commercial is running globally. It gets the message across.
This campaign for Visa by Saatchi & Saatchi London, however, gets the message into hearts. It’s eye-catching, un-credit card-y, and taps into what you and I want. The commercial promotes Visa’s new card, Wise, which the company calls The World’s Most International Account. It was directed by Blinkink London illustrator, animator and filmmaker, James Papper using a combination of found footage and 2D animation.
Blinkink explained, “The real world is the backdrop and dramatises the dreamed image of the UK living opening up to a world of renewed curiosity and long-awaited freedom. James makes money management exciting, envisioning a world where you can swap currency charges for curries. Ready for a post-pandemic world where you’re free to travel wherever you please with no limits thanks to Wise.”
By the way, James Papper also created the video accompaniment to Dua Lipa’s hit album, Future Nostalgia, with Blink Productions’ Will Hooper, working remotely with a team of visual creatives across the world. Papper led the animation; Hooper the live-action.
