The old way of investing wasn’t online. For online global forex and CFD broker, Pepperstone, the old way of investing isn’t fine. Pepperstone wants to people to know that inferior brokerages offering traders higher fees, poor service, and slow transaction speeds are not fine. Nor is the fact that some traders knowingly put up with it rather than risk switching from the broker they know.
Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand has turned all that into a humorous commercial featuring John McEnroe. No one was fine with his on-court tantrums in the 1980s. And no one should be fine with being trained by a fiery 1980s McEnroe.
The humorous campaign, featuring 1980s John McEnroe (and 2024 McEnroe) was directed by awarded director, Benji Weinstein.
Aaron Hodgson, group business director, Saatchi & Saatchi, stated, “Everyone can relate to the idea of not questioning the way things are and just putting up with it. But if there’s a better option, we didn’t think traders should just be fine with it.”
Jodi Cutler, Pepperstone global head of brand, added, “Pepperstone is trusted by traders in over 160 countries. We have a deep understanding of what it means to be a trader, and the nuances that traders put up with instead of making the switch. Saatchi and Saatchi have brilliantly tapped into the inertia that exists within our industry and delivered a comedic campaign that will cut through in our category.”
Humorously, the global campaign launched on April 1.
