How do you make a hotel feel like home? Sheraton’s Goodnight Moon campaign is a hugely appealing attempt. The hero commercial uses the famous children’s poem by Margaret Wise Brown to describe the hotel’s features – as a mother staying at the Sheraton reads the poem to her daughter in a video call, the camera wanders around the hotel picking up similarities to what is being narrated.

The film’s pace is relaxed, the mother-daughter connection brings warmth and caring. It’s inviting, real and personal, something hotel campaigns struggle to achieve.
To bring the campaign into real life, Sheraton has designed a decidedly “storybook” Goodnight Moon suite at the newly renovated Back Bay hotel in the US, that may be booked through February 28. It has with sweeping views of the Charles River to please parents, but more importantly it recreates the story’s Great Green Room with its green walls, red carpet, bowl of mush, glowing LED fireplace, working dollhouse, and red balloon. The suite sleeps up to two adults and two children, with a queen bed in the Great Green Room and a king bed in suite’s main bedroom. Guests are greeted with milk and cookies, a “Goodnight Moon” book, and a plush bunny on arrival.
