Airbnb marketing has two jobs – to encourage Airbnb vacationers and to encourage Airbnb hosts. This campaign attends to the latter job in a wonderfully warm way. The Kim Gehrig film produced by Somesuch shows that strangers are not something to be cared of – even hairy creatures can be respectful guests.
“Strangers aren’t that strange,” the commercial reminds its audience in its end title. “Try hosting.”
The hairy monsters were designed by Sonny Gerasimowicz, who created similar creatures in Spike Jonze’s film adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are.
