Special Group Australia has won the pitch for the ANZ account that was launched in July 2020, beating CHE Proximity, Hero and incumbent TBWA\Melbourne to the high-profile account. Special Group also won major account, Bonds, in August last year.
TBWA\Melbourne had been ANZ’s agency for ten years, winning it from M&C Saatchi which had held it for 14.
ANZ has produced some outstanding work across more two decades. GAYTMs was remarkable a campaign in support of the LGBTQIA+ community and the bank’s ongoing sponsorship of the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney since 2007.
Over and above its bravery at the time, the campaign won the 2014 Cannes Lions Outdoor Grand Prix, was also named the Best Direct campaign in the World for 2014 by the Big Won and #1 Best of Print/Outdoor/Design for 2014 by Creativity-online.com. It also won a number of other international awards in 2014 and 2015.
