Well, well. Tony Hale’s Verizon teaser turned out to be a portent, rather than a rumour. Beyoncé does star in the brand’s Super Bowl Super Bowl commercial, Can’t B Broken. In the 60-second spot, she takes on a challenge to break both the internet and Verizon’s 5G feature.
She makes a number of glorious attempts – including opening a lemonade stand that recalls the teaser and becoming Barbey. They all fail, but the commercial does give her the opportunity to start a new Beyoncé rumour – her next music release.
The commercial ran during the third quarter of the Super Bowl and minutes, Beyoncé posted a teaser labelled “act ii” on Instagram, adding the project’s release date: March 29.
