The Super Bowl is getting closer and the teaser ads more prolific. Olay has released five – and they’re all attention-grab scary. Budweiser and Kraft-Heinz’ Devour have released full versions of their ads. Cutdowns will run during the game – in Devour’s case because it’s using a censorship issue to stand out.
BUDWEISER:
Budweiser is bringing the Clydesdales back to the Super Bowl, after giving them a reprieve last year except for a 5-second bumper ad promoting the brand’s Clydesdale Cam live feed of the horses in their daily life on Bud’s Facebook page. There’s also a new Bud Super Bowl dog.
This year’s Bud Super Bowl ad is promoting its use of wind energy to brew the beer. A 60-second ad has already been released. A 45-second version run during the game. Anheuser-Busch launched public global sustainability goals more than a year ago and has committed to purchasing 100% of its electricity coming from renewable resources by 2025. The company claims that it has reached the half-way point in that goal. Budweiser is also partnering with Georgia’s capital city and host city of the Super Bowl, Atlanta, to offset the power the city uses throughout the week with renewable energy from a wind farm in Oklahoma.
The ad was created by David Miami and directed by Adam Berg.

DEVOUR:
Kraft-Heinz’s frozen food brand, Devour, has created two versions of its Super Bowl ad. Because the ad is a story about a bloke addicted to fast food porn and you can’t use the word, porn in a Super Bowl ad.
The uncensored 60-second version has already been released. A 30-second censored version will air during the third quarter of the game. This ad is also from David Miami.
Supporting the ads is a food porn hotline, 1-83-FOODPORN. The hotline, which will be live until February 3. VaynerMedia is managing the brand’s social and digital activations. Support activity also includes the Devour RV in partnership with Barstool Sports, a “man cave on wheels” that will drive to Atlanta and feature Barstool celebrities. Devour will sponsor social posts and podcasts from Barstool, with Barstool’s Big Cat, PFT Commenter, Rone and Kate.

OLAY:
Lastly, Saatchi & Saatchi has released five terrifying teasers, for Olay’s Super Bowl campaign, Killer Skin, in which Sarah Michelle Gellar [I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2], stars.
It will be Olay’s first appearance at the Super Bowl, bumping up the percentage of ad’s geared to women during the game. Olay’s 30-second spot will run during the first quarter of the game. The brand’s Fearless Squad – a group of nine leading body-positive advocates including Olympic gold-medalist Aly Raisman, cancer survivor Mama Cax, and plus-size model Denise Bidot – will also be watching the Big Game from an Olay-sponsored box in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
