Lay’s Super Bowl is a trip down memory lane for Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan. And it’s quite a lane. There’s a Shania Twain singing road trip, a desperate confession made in an airplane going down, a turf fight, being held hostage by a creepy stalker, and a ghoul who…no!! No spoiler alert. Anticipation for the ad reveal has been built with two teaser ads and the release of a limited edition chip made from potatoes grown in soil from NFL stadiums.
The 60-second spot, Stay Golden, marks Lay’s return to the Super Bowl fter an absence of seventeen years. It was written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the director, screenwriter and producer of some of Rogen and Rudd’s greatest comedies, Superbad and This is the End. Goldberg also directed the commercial.
