Surprise! It’s an ad. But you wouldn’t know that. People don’t choose to turn on an ad and watch it over and over, for months on end.
So The Monkeys created a music video for Seafolly’s Summer 2014 collection with Future Classic band, Panama, and the director of Sia’s Chandelier, Daniel Askill.
The video is aptly beautiful, with an intriguing story and ultra-fashion swimsuit sequences. It’s the kind of music video that stays on the playlists to which girls dream their dreams.
Justin Drape, creative director on the project and co-founder of The Monkeys, commented, “We’ve worked with the team at Future Classic before so we were fortunate to hear a demo of Panama’s new song, Stay Forever, and we thought it was perfect for Seafolly.
“Then Daniel (Askill) took the idea, narrative and style of the story to another level. We wanted to create something that was completely different to what the brand had done before and I think this music video will appeal to audiences in markets beyond Australia.”
Nathan McLay, founder of Future Classic, added, “We’re always open to collaboration opportunities that create visibility for our artists in a credible context. This was a pleasure to work on.”
Stay Forever is available on iTunes. The single was released to support Panama’s debut northern hemisphere tour through the US and Europe.
