There are parking garages in Lima that terrify Peruvians. Paranormal investigator, Anthony Choy, leads a TBWA Peru investigation to uncover what is happening in the places drivers would rather avoid. His mission is to follow reports of strange noises, bangs, and cries that seem to confirm something is going on among the ramps and basement levels, in a film called Parking Lot Horrors (Estacionamientos de Terror).
The investigation finds plenty to be afraid of, but very little of it is paranormal. Behind those unsettling sounds are cars scraping against obstacles while maneuvering, collisions, and stolen car parts. The cries were real; all you had to do was see what had happened to the car.
Each video uses the suspense of a paranormal investigation to deliver a reveal that drivers know all too well – parking garages can be terrifying without being haunted.
The campaign launched during Halloween’s spooky season. The language of the paranormal sparks curiosity, while the reveal brings a very real concern into focus. Blending mystery and humour, insurance company, Pacífico Seguros, and TBWA Peru find a way to talk about protection through situations almost any driver can relate to.
