Every now and then, an ad agency will get a brief whose metaphor isn’t a Victorian lace-up corset. TBWA\Chiat\Day New York landed the brief for the Chicago Comedy Film Festival and has used its freedoms in the way that has made the agency famous – with wit, charm and the high-power weapon of surprise.
The three parody ads appear to be for a furniture store, yoghurt brand and a seafood restaurant, mocking the hyperbole of late night advertising with perfect poise. They’re so miserable you’ll find yourself laughing.
Of course, this is the intention.
