Apple’s shot on iPhone ambitions know no bounds. Now TBWA\Media Arts Lab LATAM has shot a series of 14 vertical microdramas in partnership with Televisa, diving into the over-the-top world of telenovelas.
Nido de Villanas, directed by Emmy-nominated director, Salvador Espinosa and featuring an original score by Juan Carlos Enríquez, stars four of Mexico’s most famous telenovela actresses, bringing together two generations of Mexican television royalty – telenovela legends, Itatí Cantoral and Gabriela Spanic, and Ela Velden and Mariana Torres, two of today’s leading actresses.
The social-first series designed for mobile viewing, the wealthy Iturribiaga family’s bitter inheritance battle, using melodramatic twists and close-ups to highlight iPhone features including Center Stage, 8x optical zoom, Action mode and slow-motion video, blending classic soap-opera storytelling with short-form mobile entertainment.
The series premiered July 22 on Apple’s YouTube channel and on ViX in the ViX Micro section, accompanied by trailers and campaign imagery across digital and social channels.
