Fast food restaurants and supermarkets have traditionally lured parents via their children with little plastic toy collectibles. These are fun for a minute and they usually end up in landfill. Sadly, they’re still popular marketing tools. Since 2015, McDonald’s France has been offering families and their youngest members the choice of a book or a toy in all its Happy menus Meal.
TBWA\Paris has made that book option irresistible with a beautiful, imaginative film that highlights the gift of reading and family story-time. Beneath the surface is the message that McDonald’s cares for children’s development and family relationships.
