As the 2023 Women’s World Cup continues to fuel football excitement throughout the world, Visa and creative studio, T&DA, have turned football into an interactive juggling game that takes mobile gaming to a thrilling new level.
Visa Freestyler is a one-of-a-kind freestyle game powered by Metas’ Infinite Window technology, that gives players the adrenaline-boosting opportunity to become champions, demonstrating their football skills while leaving the crowd in awe. The gameplay is simple yet challenging – swipe with style to unleash mesmerising tricks and earn points to climb the ranks. But there’s a twist. Memory is the key to success as players unlock new moves and repeat them flawlessly at set intervals to keep the ball bouncing. The intensity builds with unexpected moves thrown in, demanding quick adaptation and rhythmic precision.
Tyrone Estephan, executive director of T&DA, stated, “We were looking for a unique way to present a fun game that relates to soccer, but has never been done before. Visa Freestyler is not generic or a retro pastiche; what we’ve created is a highly original game, combining motion capture technology with a seamless pixel streaming experience.”
Ray Leung, creative director at T&DA, added, “We are very proud of this one, creatively so and also due to the ground-breaking nature of providing an experience usually only found in downloadable apps.”
Visa Freestyler is also a global experience that supports women’s football. Users may be represented by players from four different nations, including Ellie Carpenter, one of Australia’s beloved Matildas.
