A really successful industry event is a tough act to follow. Limehouse’s Creative Circle has already achieved three triumphs in Sydney. But last night, Limehouse and Creative Circle co-sponsors, Squeak E. Clean Studios, Alt.VFX, FINCH, ARC, and Louis&Co, conquered the challenge resoundingly. The first Creative Circle in Melbourne was a winning event.
A chilled DJ feel filled the room, followed by cool party-vibe music from live band, 2022 Breakthrough Artist winners, Telenova. The band’s newly released debut album, Time is a Flower, debuted at #2 on the ARIA Album charts and #3 on the ARIA Vinyl charts and they are currently touring.
Early Bird and Kaiju Beers and a full bar lubricated conversations with crowd-pleasing drinks. Brilliant prizes added to the feeling of fun. These included an Espresso Display 15 and Stand+, donated by Espresso Displays, the world’s thinnest portable monitor; an Intuos Pro medium tablet(RRP $599) donated by Wacom, and some of Derek’s deliciously fiendish hot sauces.
Most importantly, the event welcomed all. That’s the essence of Creative Circle. Agency and production people, artists and freelancers – established, emerging and legendary – got to meet and mingle, and maybe share ideas to make the industry a little bit better.
Duncan Harriss, MD & EP, Limehouse, stated, “From humble beginnings…the series just continues to get better. The best turnout of the four events – wall to wall, and great energy.
My team couldn’t do it without the hosts – Alt.VFX, SQEC, Louis&Co, ARC and Finch.: best in the industry, to those who played tonight, and to everyone who turned out. Melbourne, you put on a show.”
Col Renshaw, founder & director, Alt.VFX commented, “Proud to host Creative Circle last night – a celebration of the young, the beautiful, and the inspirationally creative. Drinks flowed, and I know some big exciting fresh ideas were conjured. Just hoping somebody wrote them down.”
Hamish Macdonald, Squeak Clean Studios MD Australia & EMEA, stated, “Down the graffiti’d back streets of the CBD, Melbourne’s creative industry put on an absolute show last night, and the weather to match. Melbourne trio, Telenova, rocked the house as we all celebrated the absolute best of Melbourne’s Creative Circle in support for each other and our industry.”
Corey Esse, MD & EP, FINCH, added, “Well that was fun…warm night, cold drinks and great tunes. It was great to have everyone together in one room before the Christmas craziness kicks in.”
