Alexa Loses her Voice for Amazon was a first for London agency, Lucky Generals. Its first Super Bowl ad. The ad was also a huge success, winning won this year’s USA Today Ad Meter with an average score of 7.183, and nearly 44 million YouTube views at the time. Its star-stuffed cast includes Gordon Ramsay, Rebel Wilson, Cardi B, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos.
And it has just won an enormous pat on the back for Hungry Man director, Wayne McClammy – an Emmy nomination for outstanding commercials.
But, as a finalist, it has stiff competition. The already much-awarded Super Bowl ad, It’s a Tide Ad, by Saatchi & Saatchi New York and Rattling Stick filmmaker collective, Traktor, for P&G is up against it. It’s a Tide ad has already won the Super Clio for the best Super Bowl ad and a Film Grand Prix at Cannes Lions.
Both of these are up against another P&G Film Grand Prix winner, The Talk, created by BBDO New York and directed by The Corner Shop’s Malik Vitthal, for P&G’s My Black Is Beautiful program…

and Monica Lewinsky and Anti-Bullying’s, In Real Life – BBDO New York’s second Emmy nominated ad this year, directed by BBDO Studios’ Win Bates.
