“On the harsh streets of the upper west side, two gangs battle for control of the turf…” This is the beginning of the plot that drives Robert the very famous West Side Story.
With musical theatre trending again, The Monkeys have seized another opportunity to put lamb in the news.
Hot on the heels of LaLa Land comes the full-blown political commentary that lamb has been marching towards across many campaigns.
In a two and three-quarter minute Broadway musical number by The Monkeys, lamb becomes the Aussie tradition that unites a politically divided Australia – because you never lamb alone.
MLA icon [read: lambassador], Sam Kekovich makes a cameo, telling a timid pollie – in his inimitable, forthright manner – to “get off the fence”.
Happily, it’s unlikely that this ad will get banned. But it will do what The Monkeys’ other provocative MLA campaigns before it have done – get people talking. That’s another huge win for the agency and MLA.
