The One Club for Creativity has opened The Young Ones Student Awards 2021 for entries. Young Ones is a chance for graduating students to be recognised as the best young creative talent from around the world. To qualify for entry, national and international college students must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate college program, or other program approved by The One Club’s Education Department.
Submissions to the competitions are judged based on creativity and originality. Winners are awarded during the Young Ones Education Festival, held each May in New York City.
Young Ones gives creative students three different ways to win:
- YOUNG ONES BRIEF
Young Ones Brief offers students the chance to take on a number of advertising creative briefs by famous brands.
The task is to put all of your creative skills towards creating a campaign that will make that brand shine.
This year, there are four challenging briefs, with more on the way in the weeks to come. Brief 1 is to grow Budweiser’s flagship brand among younger beer drinkers? Brief 2 is to help Spotify to play a bigger role in the listening routines of commuters. Brief 3 is to use WhatsApp to guide Gen Zers through feelings of mental and physical isolation present in these times. Brief 4 is to bring your own brands to the table as you help local businesses safely re-open as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
- YOUNG ONES ADC
Young Ones ADC allows students to be recognised for the projects they’ve already created by submitting them into the same categories that they will find in the upcoming ADC 100th Annual Awards. There are categories for budding art directors, copywriters, designers, illustrators, animators and even fashion designers.
- YOUNG ONES PORTFOLIO
The strength of your entire portfolio is what will really elevate you in the “real world”. Young Ones Portfolio judges students not just on a single project, but on their entire body of work thus far. This is where consistency takes centre stage, and having a distinct voice throughout your work will lead you to victory, no matter what your creative discipline is.
All three Young Ones competitions are judged by top creatives from across many disciplines and around the globe.
