The One Club for Creativity has given young BIPOC creatives two extra weeks to put their best foot, and work, forward. The deadline for Colorful, the prelude to Young Guns 20, has been extended to Friday, May 6.
Procrastinators, latecomers and last-minute scramblers throughout the world, have had their prayers (and email requests) answered.
For those who are reading about Colorful for the first time, it’s a portfolio-based competition created to encourage more young BIPOC creative professionals to put themselves and their work on the world stage ahead of Young Guns 20. It’s free to enter, and it’s open to BIPOC creatives 30 years of age and under with at least two years of professional experience in a wide variety of creative disciplines — graphic design, advertising, illustration, filmmaking, animation, photography, fashion, typography, and more. (If you’ve seen it in Young Guns, it’s welcome in Colorful.
Colorful winners and finalists will be given free entry into Young Guns 20 later this (northern hemisphere) spring and be eligible for cash prizes of up to US$3000 to put towards their creative pursuits. Winning Young Guns has been a career-shaping moment for many creatives, and as diverse as its winners have been in recent years, Colorful aims to increase the odds of even more BIPOC representation on the winners stage this November.
