A number of pet brands have worked out lately that it’s the owner who counts and are rewarding them with understanding how far their love goes. They’ve also come to realise that humour allows them to make that understanding sentimental without being sickly.
British retailer, Pets at Home, has rebranded to become Vets for Pets, with a campaign, We’re All for Pets, by The & Partnership that shows sticky situations that animals get into and the lengths that owners will go to help. Vets for Pets steps in as the way to help owners’ love help pets. The message – and the humour – are highlighted by Meatloaf’s song I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That).
The campaign is running on TV in Britain for two months, supported by cinema, broadcaster video on demand, press, radio, social, digital and outdoor.
“We wanted a film that would punch through in the category. Rather than paint the picture-perfect side of pet ownership, where cats don’t reject food and dogs don’t fart, we wanted to accentuate the truth,” explained Chris Clarke, creative for The&Partnership.
