Alex Mangos is a huge fan of Christmas. He has become famous in his Sydney neighbourhood for his Christmas light displays. When Thinkerbell got wind of Mangos’ fame it realised there was a carpe diem waiting for Australian mangoes. Because it’s mango season.
So Thinkerbell partnered with the local father with an homage to both Mangos’ surname and his love for sweet, delicious Australian mangoes. Mangos has transformed his family home in Sydney’s south-west suburb of Oran Park into a mango-inspired wonderland. The extraordinary light display features larger-than-life mango decorations and hundreds of twinkling orange lights that are lighting up more than just taste buds.
It wasn’t long until Aussie media took notice and helped fill Aussie nights with a golden glow and spread festive cheer to mango lovers everywhere, appearing in Ch 7 News …
… and being featured in The Daily Telegraph, 9Honey and ABC Radio. Influencers including Annie Nguyen and Tika Andhini showed off the dazzling display to celebrate the Australian mango season and help share the idea to more people, featuring the easiest way to enjoy a mango – the ‘hedgehog’.

Zac Goldberg, head creative tinker, Thinkerbell, stated, “Christmas decorations are being installed earlier every year, perfectly aligning with the arrival of both the festive spirit and Australian Mango season. Meshing these two things together has helped us create some Measured Magic, that encourages Aussies to get stuck into some fresh Mangoes and spread joy and flavour throughout the warmer months.”
Belinda Van Schaik, Australian mangoes head of marketing at Hort Innovation, added,“For the 2025/26 Australian Mango season, we wanted to develop a creative idea that let Aussies know that now is the time to head to their local retailer and grab a delicious Australian mango. Discovering Alex Mangos and his love for Mangoes and Christmas lights, was the perfect way to add a little sparkle of mango magic, straight from the farm to the festive season. Whether sliced over pavlova, diced into a salad, or eaten fresh on its own, it’s the perfect fruit to bring joy to the everyday.”
