Kick it like Beckham became a legendary phrase and then a whole movie. Melbourne sports marketing agency, TLA Worldwide, hasn’t gone for something quite that ambitious, but its filmic recreation of the Australian footy phrase, “kick it like Tayla,” has a lot more stars in it. To promote the upcoming AFLW Grand Final this Sunday March 31 between the Adelaide Crows and Carlton at the Adelaide Oval, the agency and the AFL asked some of the biggest names in the Australia if they could emulate Carlton forward, Tayla Harris’, hallmark goal kick.
Comedian, Dave Hughes; Sport Australia chief executive officer, Kate Palmer; Olympians, Lauren Jackson and Giaan Rooney; and Geelong superstar, Patrick Dangerfield, were among the AFLW advocates who agreed to give it a go. Most attempts are pitiful – a bit of serendipity for highlighting women’s football.
